This page is about Mathew Manimala as a poet.
Dr Mathew Manimala is a distinguished scholar in entrepreneurship. He is a professor at Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Bangalore, India. Not everyone knows that he is also a great poet. His poems were written in Malayalam. They were inspired by stories in the bible.
I have the privilege of meeting Dr Manimala in March 2017. He kindly sang one of his peoms, Asthamikkatha Shabadam (which means Sabbath without Sundown), to me. He also patiently explained how the poem was inspired, and what he wanted to say in it. I find this poem inspiring. With Dr Manimala's permission, I am sharing his recordings below. I am also sharing Dr Manimala's explanation on his other poem, Mannu (meaning soil) below.
