《姹妮夢》

姹妮出身晦不明，漂泊坎坷居無定。 六歲跟隨外語人， 愁懷莫釋 空怨命。
花容贏得名師繪，月貌博取眾人傾。 美目盈盈本無意， 主人枉自作多情。
毛梳腮掃撫肌膚，良朋好友同呵護。 一餐吃罷 又一餐， 腴腰 婀娜無反顧。
今年歡笑復明年，秋月春風等閒度。 尋常恩愛已惘然， 暮去朝來朱顏老。
今夕殷勤侍主人， 盡訴衷情 表心事： 「莫謂荒唐莫笑痴，望君細解其中意:
姹紫嫣紅走一回，回頭再望已成灰， 蠢物不沾繁華路， 仙株還淚我還毛。
萬𠖥名花終須落，千憐緣份總成糟。 此情可待成追憶， 當時明月照貓奴。」
感謝姹妮伴身邊， 啟我文思 代我言， 為君翻作《姹妮夢》， 烙入回憶伴餘年。

【解夢】

我們對姹妮的出身一無所知，只知道她被一家送到一家。她六歲的時候來到我家，當時她不懂中文，十分徬徨，所以愁緒滿懐，空歎命薄。

姹妮的美貌很快便吸引了名畫家的注意， 何秀娟、 暱神 (Lilian Nixon) 和 林布蘭 (Rembradt) 都給她畫了畫像。衆人都覺得她美麗。
〔補充：有人懷疑林布蘭的姹妮畫像是贗品。〕

當她用又美麗又圓圓的眼睛望人時，我們總會想象她在訴說情話。 我們整天給她梳毛，撫腮，掃背，朋友來到也同樣呵護她。

姹妮胃口甚佳，成績都寫在她婀娜多姿（應該是「多脂」）的腰圍上，不過誰也不介意。快樂的日子一天又一天、一年又一年的過， 由於幸福來得太易，她也不見得特別珍惜，不知不覺間她已垂垂老去。

有一個晚上，姹妮忽然親切地來到我面前，說要對我吐露她的心底話：「請勿說我荒唐、痴呆，請你細味我要說的話：我到這個花花世界走了一回，已嘗心願， 現在走完了我要走的路，過去已成塵跡，我這個無知者已經毫無留戀了。正如林黛玉到世上還淚一樣，我們前生有緣，我是回來還毛給你的。

無論有多少人寵愛的花也有凋謝的一日，多少人珍惜的緣份也會終結。 不過他日你看到天上的月亮時，也許會想起它曾經照過我們的相聚，也許會勾起你一絲甜蜜的回憶。」

感謝姹妮陪伴我們，啟發了我的創作靈感，代我說出心中話。所以特別整輯她的舊作，為她寫了這首《姹妮夢》，烙在我的回憶之中，伴我餘生。

【夢解】

《Epitaph -- Charley》

Charley was a fighter. She has won many battles, against the odds, in recent years, shedding a few of her lives on the way. She has lost her final battle to aging, as we all will eventually.
It has been a privilege to share Charley's path for 14 years. She has been a great companion and inspiration.

Charley’s background was a mystery. All we knew was that she was passed from one owner to another. She arrived to our family at the age of six. [I notice that many cats to be given away are said to be aged six.] Settling in a family that speaks a foreign language was challenging.

Soon Charley’s beauty won over everybody. Several great artists even painted her. [Some suggested that Rembrandt’s portraits of Charley are fake though.] When she looks at you with her big round eyes, you feel that she has something to say, though we could be just imagining.

Charley enjoys being combed and stroked. She loves being pampered by everyone around her. Her appetite is remarkably good. Every gram of food is recorded on her waistline, which nobody seems to mind. There’s no looking back for Charley!

Charley enjoyed her privileged life day after day, year after year, taking others’ love and services for granted. Little did she realise that the nights and days have consumed all her youth.

One night, she came and sat in front of me to reveal her mind:
[I shall try to record Charley’s encrypted message as well as I can.]
“Don’t call me absurd, don’t call me silly; please take what I have to say seriously. I’ve been granted my wish to visit this colourful world. Now that I’ve finished my journey, nothing matters to me anymore. I was a plant in my previous life. Your family saved me by keeping me warm. So I’ve come back to repay you with my hair.
[Charley loses a lot of hair every day. Charley’s story reminds me of “The Story of the Stone”, in which Lin Daiyu returned to repay, throughout her life, tear to her sympathesizer.]

The most loved flowers will fall one day. The most treasured relationships will end eventually. I hope our encounter will leave you with a sweet memory, whenever you see the moon shines upon you.”

To thank Charley for her company, inspiration and speaking on my behalf, I’ve composed this piece. I’ll burn it into my memory and cherish it for the rest of my life.

  1. 《姹妮夢》寫於二零二三年三月二十八到三十日，目的是在姹妮有生之年記錄她的故事。《夢》網頁在三月三十一日上載，後期稍作編輯及加入連結、背景。
  2. 姹妮出身晦不明: 交姹妮給我們的人是多手貓主，他相信姹妮身上植有晶片，可是獸醫偵察不到，所以姹妮的真正身份不明。
  3. 六歲: 姹妮在二零零九年十一月八日到我們家， 交姹妮給我們的人相信姹妮當時六歲，如果屬實的話（無法稽考，送出的貓很多都被稱作六歲），《夢》成時她已經十九、二十歲了。
  4. 跟隨外語人: 交姹妮給我們的陌生人首先跑了一百二十哩來面試我們，回家考慮後，憑直覺，相信我們會給姹妮一個好生活，才把姹妮托付我們。 來到這個言語不通的家庭了，姹妮藏身一整天才出來吃東西。
  5. 愁懷莫釋： 曹雪芹《紅樓夢》「葬花吟」： 「花謝花飛花滿天，紅消香斷有誰憐？游絲軟繫飄春榭，落絮輕沾撲繡簾。閨中女兒惜春暮，愁緒滿懷無釋處，手把花鋤出繡簾，忍踏落花來復去。」
  6. 空怨命: 曹雪芹《紅樓夢》第五回太虛幻境「薄命司」對聯： 「春恨秋悲皆自惹，花容月貌為誰妍？」
  7. 今年歡笑復明年...: 白居易 《琵琶行》： 「今年歡笑復明年，秋月春風等閒度。 弟走從軍阿姨死，暮去朝來顏色故。」
  8. 訴衷情： 姹妮吟： 「簾翠翠，懶依依，願主人：更摻黃背、更撫腴腰、更表衷情。」
  9. 莫笑痴...其中意： 曹雪芹《紅樓夢》第一回： 「滿紙荒唐言，一把辛酸淚！都云作者痴，誰解其中味？」
  10. 仙株還淚我還毛: 姹妮前生是大觀園中的一顆絳珠仙草，眼看捱不過冬天，後得劉姥姥從園中撿起，放在溫室照顧，始得不死。 為報姥姥保暖之恩，今世為貓，一生還毛，以傚林黛玉一生還淚之舉。
  11. 尋常恩愛已惘然...此情可待成追憶: 李商隱 《錦瑟》： 「錦瑟無端五十弦， 一弦一柱思華年。 莊生曉夢迷蝴蝶， 望帝春心托杜鵑。 滄海月明珠有淚， 藍田日暖玉生煙。 此情可待成追憶， 只是當時已惘然。」
  12. 當時明月照貓奴: 晏幾道《臨江仙》： 「夢後樓台高鎖，酒醒簾幕低垂。去年春恨卻來時。落花人獨立，微雨燕雙飛。 記得小蘋初見，兩重心字羅衣，琵琶弦上說相思。當時明月在，曾照彩雲歸。」 我說：「記得姹妮初見，黃背心白羅衣，舌尖爪下說相思。當時明月在，曾照主人歸。」
