Change the World with Lykke

Lykke is an ambitious, crowd-based setup towards building a market that is efficient, transparent and fair.

In the old days, people brought their goods to the market to trade. Today, the Internet enables everyone in the world to do business with everyone else. Anyone can trade with anyone else. Payments can be settled instantaneously. The world is just ONE market -- or it should be, if the infrastructure is there.

What is Lykke?

Lykke is an ambitious setup that supports the above vision. By joining the Lykke community, members can work together towards a market where anyone can trade with anyone else. Entry to the market is no longer a barrier, the same information is available to all, and therefore, everyone has equal opportunities.

Exactly how could this market be built? How to build the software platform? What are the security considerations? What should be built in the first stage, second stage, etc.? Nobody is going to design the ideal system for us. Lykke's idea is: together, we will be able to design and build a system that we can all trust and support.

Open source

If, say, a group of people contributes software to create a high-frequency trading platform, then Lykke could become a platform for high-frequency trading. Being open-source, it is easy for others to improve on the platform, or add features to it. It would also be easy to add visualisation and analysis software to it to make it more usable to traders.

The community determines where Lykke goes

In Wikipedia, contributors determine the topics to write on. If many people write about biology, say, then the collection of articles around biology will become valuable to the world.

Like Wikipedia, Lykke is crowd-based.
